Sitaram Kunte appointed Maharashtra chief secretary

NEW DELHI: Senior IAS officer Sitaram Kunte was on Saturday appointed chief secretary of Maharashtra succeeding Sanjay Kumar. He was presently additional chief secretary (home).

Kunte, a 1985 batch officer, who has previously served as Mumbai’s municipal commissioner, shares a good rapport with the chief minister. He has handed several departments in the Maharashtra Government.

He was head of Maharashtra Housing and Area Development Authority
