Delegation from delegation from Kobe city visits JNPT

NEW DELHI: A business delegation from Kobe city, Japan comprising of representatives from warehouse transportation business, manufacturing industry, Kobe-Osaka International Port Corporation, port & harbor bureau and office of the mayor of Kobe city government visited Jawaharlal Nehru Port Trust (JNPT), to understand the various initiatives taken by the Port.

The visit was a part of ongoing efforts to strengthen maritime cooperation between the two nations.

The delegation further had an interactive session led by senior officers from JNPT, to appraise them about the role of JNPT in the economic scenario of the country and also its contribution towards the global market.

The discussion highlighted growth trajectory of the Port, operational efficiency and various initiatives implemented to promote Ease of Doing Business & adoption of technology to improve the efficiency and quality of business at the Port.

They also discussed infrastructural developments underway, like the dedicated freight corridor which will make rail connectivity to Ports more viable and the development of Dry Ports which will allow the ports to connect with the hinterland and also contribute towards the growth of the maritime sector in India.
