Industry should work towards finding unique solutions in Indian manufacturing context

NEW DELHI: Indian Industry should work towards finding unique solutions to the manufacturing related issues being faced in the Indian context,” said Dr Amita Prasad, Director General, National Productivity Council & Additional Secretary, Government of India.

Dr Prasad was speaking at the CII Conference on “Manufacturing Excellence through Automation & Robotics” organised during CII International Engineering & Technology Fair 2019 (IETF) at New Delhi today.

The Director General emphasised that our focus should be on implementing the technologies that will be sustainable in the long run in terms of economic aspects viz. product quality, cost etc. as well as social aspects like employment. Dr Prasad invited the industry to work with the National Productivity Council on the Centre of Excellence in IT.

M M Singh, Conference Chairman & Executive Director, Maruti Suzuki India Ltd mentioned that we have to move towards Automation & Industry 4.0 with a practical approach that has room for flexibility.

Nishant Arya, Past Chairman, CII Haryana State Council & Executive Director, JBM Group mentioned that with Automation, we can utilise our work force optimally. He emphasised the need for skilling and enhanced Industry Academia connect for making automation successful.

Mr Neeraj Munjal, Past Chairman, CII Haryana State Council & Managing Director, Shivam Autotech Ltd delivered the concluding remarks and the Vote of Thanks.
